Owens papers, 1898.

Diary and an expanded later version of Owens' diary concerning his experiences as a Rough Rider. Includes his journey from home to Cuba, campaigns against the Spanish and his return to the United States. The diary begins in May 1898 and ends in August 1898. There are also typescript lists of members of Rough Riders Troop A, and two photographs of two unidentified men and horses.

William "Wild Bill" Owens, a native of Globe, Arizona, served in Troop B of the U.S. Volunteer Cavalry, known as the Rough Riders, during the Spanish-American War.
